About the Role

The Business Times (BT) Global is seeking an experienced business journalist to shape our coverage of Thailand. The successful candidate will be based in Bangkok for a term of up to 3 years and will work closely with the BT Global team in Singapore. Candidates residing in Singapore will be posted to Bangkok to perform this role. BT Global reports through a South-east Asian lens, delivering first-hand reporting, analysis and context on issues shaping the region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver major spot news, exclusive interviews with corporate leaders and decision makers, enterprise stories and deep-dive analyses on economic, policy and corporate developments in Thailand
• Report from a regional lens, connecting local developments to regional and global shifts
• Contribute to and coordinate story packages involving correspondents across Asean
• Report and produce content across platforms, including text, video, podcasts, visual explainers and infographics
• Build and maintain strong networks across government, business, finance and industry
• Work proactively as a self-starter to deliver high-quality journalism in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of experience in business, financial or economic reporting (or relevant professional background)
• Excellent news judgment and ability to work independently while collaborating with a cross-border editorial team
• Relevant degree in Communications, New Media, Business, Finance, Journalism or related fields
• Multimedia or multi-platform reporting skills are an advantage
• Knowledge of the local language will be an advantage
• Comfortable producing quality work to tight deadlines for a regional and global audience
