About the Role
The Customer Team Lead (all genders) Cardiology (North/South) is responsible for building and leading a high-performing, adaptable, and market- and customer-oriented field sales organization for Bayer Vital's cardiology products. In this role, you bear the responsibility for results within your area of responsibility and ensure that strategic priorities are consistently translated into measurable outcomes, clear focus decisions, and effective implementation.
As a modern leader, you act in the spirit of "Dynamic Shared Ownership" (DSO) by actively living the four central leadership roles of Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach (VACC) at the "Home" level for the Sales area, and at the "Work" level for the customer teams consisting of CLM/KAM, MSL, Sales Reps, and other interface functions. You seek close coordination with all other "Home" leads and help shape the product team's strategy, create the framework for the success of the customer teams, and empower the teams to achieve top performance independently. Within the given financial framework, you set clear priorities, actively make trade-offs (e.g., between initiatives, channels, target groups, or measures), and dynamically steer resources to where they generate the greatest impact.
Responsibilities
- As a Visionary: You develop and communicate a clear, inspiring vision for your area of responsibility, derived from the overarching business strategy, which provides orientation and meaning to the customer teams. You actively participate in the short- and medium-term business field planning within the product team and ensure the successful market positioning of new and existing products. You anticipate market trends and derive forward-looking strategies from them. You prioritize strategic growth levers for your area of responsibility and translate them into clear focal points for customer teams (e.g., target customer/target group segmentation, channel and measure mix) – including conscious trade-offs to maximize impact and results.
- As an Architect: You design and implement an optimal organizational structure, processes, and systems that enable agile and effective work for the customer teams. You ensure an adequate structure and optimal resource deployment to achieve strategic goals. You manage the revenue, costs, and budget of your area, regularly monitor developments, and optimize investments with the customer teams. In doing so, you comply with all medical, legal, and compliance regulations.
- As a Catalyst: You act as an initiator and change agent who breaks down silos, promotes cross-functional collaboration, and releases energy within the system. You identify and remove obstacles that block the success of customer teams. You conduct negotiations with strategic stakeholders (e.g., wholesalers, pharmacies, hospital groups, professional associations, or practice networks) and promote exchange and progress through your participation in external committees and projects.
- As a Coach: You dedicate yourself to the development of your employees and all customer teams through targeted coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback. You foster a culture of trust and psychological safety, where employees can grow and unleash their full potential. You are responsible for personnel management and development according to Bayer guidelines and identify, retain, and recruit top talents for the organization.
