About the Company

Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is looking for a Chief Steward to join our team. Mandarin Oriental is the award-winning owner and operator of some of the most luxurious hotels, resorts and residences located in prime destinations around the world. Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, established in 1876, is a world-renowned luxury hotel on the Chao Phraya River. It features 331 rooms and suites, 15 restaurants and lounges, a spa, sports centre, a daycare and a Thai cooking school.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and continually upgrade a Departmental Operations Manual detailing standards of performance, policies and procedures in accordance with FLHSS and HACCP procedures.
• Ensure guest needs and expectations are met by providing spotless operating equipment.
• Liaise with Engineering to ensure prompt and efficient repair work.
• Liaise with Purchasing to ensure prompt purchasing, issuing of supplies, stock control and inventory control.
• Recommend modernization of equipment and improvements to guest satisfaction.
• Conduct regular meetings and briefings to keep employees informed of policies, procedures, special events, improvement plans and guest comments.
• Check and sign all store requisitions and ensure the outlet is operated within budget by minimizing costs without affecting standards.
• Ensure that all safety rules, emergency procedures and fire prevention regulations are strictly enforced.
• Operate in accordance with all Health and Safety legislation and hygiene requirements and ensure they are consistently maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in hotel management or relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years work experience as Chief Steward.
• Good leadership skills.
• Computer literate and knowledge of HACCP.
• Proactive communication skills in both verbal and written English and Thai.
