About the Role

As a Junior Flight Simulation Technician, you will support the maintenance, operation, and readiness of Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) to ensure a high-quality training experience for our customers. You will work closely with senior technicians and engineers to maintain simulator performance, carry out preventative maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure facilities and equipment are operational and customer-ready.

The role requires a strong customer-focused mindset, attention to detail, commitment to safety, and a willingness to continuously develop technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Simulator Operations & Maintenance

• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on flight simulators and associated systems.
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks on simulators.
• Configure simulators to meet customer training requirements.
• Perform simulator walk-around inspections and readiness checks.
• Carry out visual alignments and assist with visual system adjustments.
• Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results.
• Assist with simulator refurbishment projects and hardware modifications.
• Diagnose and resolve routine technical issues affecting simulator operations.
• Escalate complex technical issues to the Supervisor or Shift Leader when required.

Customer Support

• Prepare simulators for scheduled customer training sessions.
• Meet and support customers at the start and end of training sessions.
• Respond promptly to customer concerns and simulator interruptions.
• Deliver a professional and positive customer experience at all times.

Facilities & Safety

• Conduct routine checks of facility services, including lighting, air conditioning, fire protection systems, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all Health & Safety requirements.
• Follow and support the AATC Quality Management System.

Administration & Documentation

• Complete engineering and maintenance records accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
• Use the Maintenance Management System to record, monitor, and track maintenance activities.
• Perform logistics-related tasks including receiving, processing, and validating spare parts and repairs.
• Carry out housekeeping duties to maintain simulator and work area standards.
• Complete administrative tasks and reports as required.

Training & Development

• Complete all assigned training activities.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and professional skills.
• Support the development of junior team members by sharing knowledge and best practices when appropriate.
• Follow instructions and work assignments provided by Supervisors and Shift Leaders.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Aviation, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Basic understanding of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or computer-based systems.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to follow established procedures and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Desirable

• Previous experience working with simulators, training devices, or technical equipment.
• Experience using diagnostic and test equipment.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance processes.
• Experience supporting refurbishment or hardware modification projects.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems.

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate should be able to:

• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Climb stairs regularly.
• Bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Work in confined spaces when required.
