Sales Director

Position Overview

We are seeking an ambitious, results-driven commercial leader to drive ad-supported revenue growth and strategic sponsorship deals for Viu. In this role, you will lead end-to-end sales strategies spanning digital media (AVOD), original content integration, high-profile event sponsorships (such as Asian celebrity fan meets and concerts), and bespoke brand activations. You will leverage existing executive relationships across top-tier media agencies and direct brand decision-makers to scale Viu’s commercial footprint across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation & Growth

• Drive ad sales strategy and hit quarterly/annual revenue targets across Viu digital media, video ad inventory, programmatic channels, and premium sponsorship packages.
• Structure and close complex, high-value commercial deals combining digital video, content placement, brand integrations, and live fan experience events (e.g., Korean/Thai star fan meetings).

Agency & Brand Relationship Management

• Cultivate and expand a robust network of senior-level decision-makers at media holding companies, independent agencies, and major regional/global brands.
• Serve as the trusted media advisor for key accounts, translating advertiser goals into customized Viu content and media solutions.

Strategic Campaign Integration & Fan Meets

• Partner with the Content, Marketing, and Event Execution teams to design high-impact 360-degree brand partnerships centered around Viu’s core entertainment assets (Originals, top dramas, live events).
• Monitize celebrity fan meets and regional events through title sponsorships, VIP experience packages, on-ground branding, and digital amplification.

Market & Yield Strategy

• Develop competitive pricing frameworks, packaging strategies, and yield-management models for media inventory and event assets.
• Analyze campaign performance data, viewer demographics, and market trends to continuously refine sales pitches and maximize ROI for client renewals.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience

• 8+ years of progressive experience in ad sales, media partnerships, or commercial business development within OTT streaming platforms, digital media networks, or entertainment agencies.
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding multi-million dollar annual revenue targets.

Industry Network

• Established, active relationships with key media agencies (GroupM, Publicis, Omnicom, IPG, Dentsu, Havas) and direct brand marketers across consumer electronics, FMCG, telecom, beauty, and e-commerce.

Event & Media Expertise

• Demonstrated experience closing sponsorships for live entertainment, celebrity fan meets, or major regional events alongside standard digital ad inventory.
• Deep understanding of digital video advertising formats, programmatics, streaming measurement metrics, and content-integration models.

Skills & Mindset

• Exceptional negotiation, strategic framing, and high-stakes pitch presentation skills.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with the ability to navigate matrixed internal teams (Content, Legal, Marketing, Operations) to execute complex client campaigns seamlessly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
