Cloud Technical Architect — Data Modernization (Presales)

About the Role

We are seeking a senior Cloud Technical Architect with deep expertise in data lake architecture, data management, and cloud-native data services to join our presales and consulting practice. You will act as the primary technical authority in client engagements, translating data modernization challenges into architectural solutions and supporting sales, delivery, and partner teams (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand clients' data landscape, pain points and business goals, and design/present end-to-end data modernization architectures (data lake, lakehouse, data mesh, cloud DW).
• Develop Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstrations, reference architectures and respond to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs with technical proposals, solution narratives and architecture diagrams.
• Architect scalable cloud-native data platforms using services such as AWS (S3, Lake Formation, Glue, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Athena), Azure (ADLS Gen2, Data Factory, Synapse, Purview, Databricks) and GCP (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Dataplex, Looker).
• Design data management frameworks covering governance, quality, metadata, lineage and MDM; define data integration patterns including batch, streaming, CDC and event-driven architectures.
• Advise on data security, access control, encryption (at rest/in transit) and compliance with data privacy regulations (PDPA, GDPR), and evaluate modern data stack tools (dbt, Iceberg, Delta Lake, Kafka, Airflow, etc.).
• Support delivery teams during project initiation to ensure architectural alignment, conduct data maturity assessments and gap analysis workshops, and contribute reusable accelerators and best practice documentation.
• Maintain and deepen technical relationships with cloud provider partner teams, participate in partner certification tracks and represent the company at technical forums and industry events.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 8+ years in IT with at least 5 years focused on cloud data architecture/data platform engineering and 3+ years in presales, technical consulting or solution architecture roles. Hands-on experience implementing data lake/lakehouse solutions on at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Technical: Strong SQL proficiency; working knowledge of Python, Spark or Scala; familiarity with IaC (Terraform, CDK) and DevOps practices; knowledge of storage formats (Parquet, ORC, Avro, Delta, Iceberg) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Certifications (preferred): AWS, Azure or Google professional/data architect certifications, Databricks Data Engineer certifications.
