Solution Architect - Mobile Applications

About the Role

If you’re passionate about designing modern, scalable solutions and enjoy turning complex business challenges into clear and impactful architectures — especially for mobile applications and digital experiences — this role is for you. As a Solution Architect – Mobile Applications at Allianz Technology, you will shape end-to-end IT solutions with a strong focus on mobile platforms, support Allianz’s digital transformation, and guide delivery teams from design to implementation. You will also contribute to evolving our technology landscape, including cloud-native and AI-enabled architectures, and lead a distributed architecture team across multiple countries and partner organisations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive IT solutions with a strong focus on mobile application architectures (native or cross-platform)
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements
• Create architectural designs and documentation ensuring scalability, performance, and security
• Lead integration of mobile applications with backend and cloud services to ensure seamless interoperability
• Lead and coordinate a distributed, multi-organization architecture team, planning and prioritizing workload
• Represent the architecture team in governance forums and influence stakeholders across organisations
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance mobile solution capabilities
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in architecture and design
• Participate in developing IT strategies and roadmaps to support business growth
• Contribute to architectures integrating LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, and AI components where relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Mobile Architect, or similar role
• Proven experience in mobile application architecture, either native (iOS/Android) or cross-platform (e.g. Flutter)
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#
• Strong knowledge of mobile application lifecycle, design patterns, and backend integration
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience presenting to and obtaining approval from architecture governance bodies
• Demonstrated experience leading architecture practices across distributed, cross-cultural, and multi-organization teams
• Good knowledge of AI technologies and their practical use is a plus
