THE IMPACT OF THIS ROLE

As a hostess /host, it is your responsibility to ensure that customers/guests leave your facility with an excellent experience.

When there are questions or complaints that you can’t handle, you should refer them to a superior staff or supervisor as quickly as possible.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Maintain a friendly, courteous, and positive attitude at all times.
• Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns efficiently.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.

Reservations & Seating Management

• Manage restaurant reservations through telephone, email, or reservation systems.
• Maintain an accurate waiting list during peak periods.
• Coordinate table assignments to maximize seating capacity and guest satisfaction.
• Monitor dining room flow and communicate effectively with service staff.

Communication & Coordination

• Communicate guest preferences, VIP arrivals, and special occasions to the service team.
• Coordinate with restaurant managers and servers to ensure smooth operations.
• Answer incoming calls and provide accurate information regarding restaurant services and operating hours.

Restaurant Presentation

• Ensure the reception and waiting areas are clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Maintain menus in clean and presentable condition.
• Assist in monitoring the restaurant's appearance and ambiance.
• Comply with hotel policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and LQA
• Follow hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times

Administrative Duties

• Maintain reservation records and guest profiles where applicable.
• Prepare daily reservation reports as required.
• Assist with promotional activities and guest feedback collection.
