Supply Chain Lead - Bangkok, Thailand

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management and based in Thailand, the successful candidate will be able to responsible for the day-to-day management of supplier partnerships across the globe and mainly in support of our factory operations in Durham and contract manufacturing partnerships overseas. You will drive a small supply chain team based in the Durham office and work cross functionally with program managers, supply chain team members, engineering, and quality teams across the organization to implement and execute to processes that meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements. This position is also responsible for key supplier management, namely Phononic’s US-based suppliers. Build partnerships, negotiate and prepare supplier agreements, and work with the strategic sourcing team to evaluate and qualify new suppliers. You will also lead the supply chain responsibilities that support ISO9001, EMS14001 and IATF16949 management systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Lead sourcing activities for direct and indirect components
• Identify and on-board new suppliers
• Create and place purchase orders with suppliers and contract manufacturers
• Manage cost and inventory of materials with data and metrics to reduce costs
• Facilitate supplier corrective action requests (SCARs)
• Negotiate directly with suppliers
• Track supplier score cards and perform supplier reviews
• Project manage cost savings initiatives with suppliers
• Expedite and escalate deliveries as needed
• Support Supply Chain improvement initiatives
• Support company quality management system initiatives through continuous improvement, risk-based thinking, and auditing
• Other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain and a minimum of 3 years of experience in global sourcing and procurement. Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience using an ERP system: Microsoft Business Central, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP system
• Ability to learn and understand technical aspects of thermal components (i.e. understanding requirements on drawings)
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills required
• High energy level and strong self-motivation required
• Strong computer and organization skills, including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel highly desired
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® or similar is preferred
• Small amounts of travel domestically or globally may be required at times
