About the Role

Netflix seeks a seasoned and intellectually-curious business and legal affairs executive to join our team based in Bangkok, Thailand. This role provides business and legal affairs support for Netflix’s Southeast Asia and Taiwan content initiative, primarily focused on the commissioning and licensing of Thai films, series, and music. The role will manage music clearance workflows for content and marketing/PR campaigns, provide production legal support, and build/manage relationships with content, production, and music partners. This position is based in Bangkok with periodic international travel, including to Netflix’s office in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Structure, negotiate, draft, and close deals for film, series, and music, including master use and synchronization rights, licensing, acquisition, and original content development and production.
• Manage music clearance workflow for film and series content and for marketing/PR campaigns, including clearing music tracks with multiple rights holders and contracting composers and other music talent.
• Oversee music requirements and deliverables for film and series content (e.g., cue sheets, CMO requirements) and advise on/monitor music budgets and estimates for projects.
• Provide production legal support for films and series and advise production companies on music rights and licensing (or clear music directly as necessary).
• Serve as a business partner and key collaborator to film/series content executives and work cross-functionally to maintain alignment between departments.
• Manage relationships with and work closely with outside counsel when required.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both Thai and English, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively in both languages.
• Experience advising on business and legal issues in the film, television, and/or music industry.
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts in the Thai film, television, and/or music industry (licensing, production, financing, and/or distribution) is required.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently, handle a high volume of assignments under tight timeframes, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Curiosity and willingness to tackle matters outside their core expertise; adaptable negotiation style; solution-oriented and practical thinking.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, and to manage outside counsel.

Skills

• Experience with music rights and licensing for content and marketing/PR usage.
• Contract negotiation and drafting in Thai-language agreements.
• Managing workflows and deliverables across production and music teams.
