AV Technician

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV, projection, lighting, and conferencing equipment, devices, and systems.
• Oversee AV set-up in banquet and meeting rooms and check delivered equipment and room set-up against Banquet Event Order.
• Ensure all AV equipment is fully operational; repair or clean equipment when necessary and label any broken equipment.
• Tape down and dress loose wire and cable; break down, remove, and secure equipment when not in use.
• Communicate additions or deletions to flowsheets to manager/supervisor and report problems to manager/supervisor.
• Assist and instruct guests/customers on proper usage and operation of AV equipment, upsell AV services, and monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals.
• Read, understand, and adhere to Marriott Visual Productions (MVP program) SOP book and follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, maintain professional personal appearance, and develop positive working relationships with team members.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Related work experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Supervisory experience: None required. License or certification: None required.
• Physical: Ability to reach, grasp, turn, manipulate, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance; visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
