We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to represent owners/tenants and ensure successful delivery of electrical systems for new data centre development and infrastructure fit-out projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and implement electrical systems for new-build data centre projects, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
• Prepare electrical engineering specifications, technical drawings, and construction documents, including schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams, and equipment layouts.
• Evaluate and select electrical equipment and components, ensuring compatibility with project requirements and optimal performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to assess viability and efficiency of electrical systems and propose improvements.
• Provide technical support during construction: review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications and electrical codes.
• Perform electrical load calculations, power distribution analysis, and fault current calculations to ensure correct equipment sizing and system reliability.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers to integrate electrical systems into overall project plans.
• Participate in commissioning activities: perform electrical system tests, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper functionality and performance.
• Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to electrical systems and apply this knowledge to improve design and implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience designing and managing electrical systems for data centre new-builds and infrastructure fit-out projects.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards and practices; familiarity with NFPA, NEC and local codes.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, Revit).
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, including medium voltage, low voltage, emergency backup systems, lighting, power distribution and fire alarm systems.
• Excellent project management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication with cross-functional teams and clients.
