About the Role
As a foundational support role within the Individual Giving unit, the Fundraising Assistant (Database) plays a vital part in enabling the Private Sector Fund Raising (PSFR) team's strategic goals of data-driven growth and operational excellence. By collecting, cleaning, and preparing data for analysis, the incumbent ensures that donor and campaign data is accurate, timely, and ready for integration into broader fundraising workflows. This role directly supports the team's emphasis on segmentation, funnel-based marketing, and evidence-based decision-making. Through meticulous data validation and transformation, the Assistant helps maintain the integrity of systems that underpin campaign execution, performance monitoring, and strategic reporting.
Under the Individual Giving unit on the PSFR team, the Fundraising Assistant (Database) collects, cleans, and prepares data for analysis. Responsibilities include data extraction, transformation, validation, and ensuring data quality. Incumbent facilitates the database-ready for next steps in implementation, monitoring, and delivery of PSFR and office's activities/programme and effective execution of tasks aligned with UNICEF rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
PSFR Programme & Activity Support
- Facilitate daily operations and maintenance of the organization's databases, ensuring they support ongoing organizational goals
- Assist the preparation, collection and cleaning data needed for PSFR and programme activities/campaigns
- Process data extraction, transformation and validation by ensuring data quality and accuracy for next steps in data analysis in formats required
Database and Data Processing Support
- Support in operational aspects of database management, including performance optimization, security, and data integrity
- Contribute to ensure that databases run smoothly, perform at optimal levels, and are secure from unauthorized access
- Support on reliable databases that support daily operations and data-driven decision-making
Knowledge Management & Communication
- Facilitate planning and collaboration by providing communication support for activities and campaigns including internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain well-organized document repository, both digital and physical where needed, systems for knowledge sharing and institutional memory
Digital Dexterity
- Utilize AI and data visualization tools to obtain synthesized information and presentation
- Maintain digital archives in line with UNICEF's digital workforce and data protection guidelines
- Employ digital solutions and support colleagues in adopting new tools on data for efficiency, when needed
- Manage and maintain the databases, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and protection of data. Safeguard documents ensuring confidentiality and mitigate data risks

By expertly managing the compilation and coordination of critical work products, the incumbent directly ensures the timely delivery of essential project components and strict adherence to established operational frameworks. This proactive support streamlines administrative processes, mitigates potential delays, and establishes a robust and efficient operational foundation upon which the programme activities are effectively executed. The incumbent's meticulous contributions have a significant impact on the office's overall PSFR operations efficiency and directly contribute to the successful and impactful implementation of PSFR programme objectives, ultimately enhancing the office's ability to achieve its strategic goals.
Qualifications
Education:
Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative work experience in data processing is required. A bachelor's degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may replace three years of related work experience. A master's degree may replace an additional two years
- Proven track record of successful data processing projects
- Hands-on experience in identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing improvements
- Experience using AI and data analysis tools like Excel, Power BI
- Familiarity with data management platforms such as Salesforce, or other CRM/ERP systems
Language:
- Fluency in Thai and English is required (written and spoken)
