The AQE Leader (Sr. Manager) oversees global new product introduction for DDN, driving APQP from program start through PPAP, Safe Launch, and ECNs. Acts as liaison between Engineering, Plants, and cross-functional teams to ensure launch excellence and sustainable quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead Global AQE Team: Oversee Advanced Quality Engineers for all new product introductions within the DDN business unit.
• Project Leadership: Manage AQE activities from project inception to product launch including kick-off, planning, and APQP gate reviews.
• Drive Quality Documentation & Tools: Deliver Control Plans, Capability Studies, drawings, inspection instructions, gage R&R, DFMEA, PFMEA, AFMEA and other required documentation.
• Process & Design for Manufacturing: Ensure DfMA principles, define/approve Design Validation Tests (DVT), and authorize DVT results; participate in concept and design reviews for tooling and fixturing.
• Validation & PPAP: Assemble and submit PPAP packages per customer requirements and support customer-specific requirements and SPC data analysis.
• Risk Management & Problem Solving: Lead risk management, RPN reductions, 8-Ds for prototypes and failures, and change control processes including identification of special characteristics.
• Supplier Quality Collaboration: Partner with Supplier Quality Engineers on process capability studies, FTAR/CTAR and Supplier PPAPs.
• Reporting & Governance: Provide regular updates to executive management on Global Supplier Quality Program performance and maintain compliance with quality systems and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a technical discipline (Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics).
• 10+ years of experience in Quality / Advanced Quality Engineering, including experience in global, cross-functional, multi-site organizations.
• Experience managing engineering teams and delivering projects with multiple dependencies across geographies.
• Expertise with Lean, Six Sigma, DFSS, DfMA, Kaizen, 8D, DoE, SPC and Process Capability (CpK) analysis techniques.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ISO9000/9001, IATF16949, ISO14001, VDA, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, APQP Gate Reviews, and GD&T.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with customers, leadership, stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple demanding programs in parallel and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel as required, approximately 30%.
