About the Role

The Legal & Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing all legal matters and ensuring the company operates in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Act as a strategic business partner, providing practical legal guidance to support commercial decisions while safeguarding GQ’s interests, brand reputation, and long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders across functions (Commercial, Finance, Production, Operations, Marketing, HR).
• Support business initiatives, partnerships, and new projects with risk assessment and legal insights.
• Interpret laws and regulations relevant to retail, e-commerce, labor, and consumer protection.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements (supplier agreements, lease agreements, service contracts, partnership agreements) and maintain contract templates and management processes.
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and frameworks; ensure adherence to local laws and regulations (labor law, PDPA, tax, consumer protection).
• Act as key contact for regulatory bodies and external legal advisors and promote a strong compliance culture across the organization.
• Identify legal and compliance risks, propose mitigation strategies, conduct regular compliance audits and internal reviews, and handle disputes, claims, and potential litigation in coordination with external counsel.
• Oversee corporate governance requirements including company registrations, licenses, filings, proper documentation, and support board meetings and corporate record-keeping.
• Conduct legal and compliance training sessions for employees and management, simplifying legal concepts into practical guidance and driving awareness of ethical standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law (LL.B. or LL.M.).
• Licensed lawyer in Thailand preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in legal and compliance roles (in-house or law firm).
• Experience in retail, fashion, FMCG, or e-commerce is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Thai laws and regulations (labor law, PDPA, commercial law).
