About the Company

Organizational Setting

The Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP) leads FAO's response to regional priorities for food security, agriculture and rural development, oversees Country Offices and the Subregional Office for the Pacific Islands (SAP), and supports the formulation and implementation of Country Programmes and Projects in the region.

Reporting Lines

The Human Resources Specialist will be based in the RAP in Bangkok, Thailand. The post reports to the National Professional Officer (Human Resources) and may receive guidance from the Regional Human Resources Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Support the overall hiring plan for national affiliate workforce.
  • Develop and/or review Terms of Reference of affiliate workforce and ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage publication of vacancy calls to attract candidates for national and international affiliate workforce and ensure proper dissemination.
  • Organize and facilitate the selection process, including coordinating interviews with the selection panel and preparing evaluation reports.
  • Manage the complete contract cycle for national affiliate workforce in the Global Resource Management System (GRMS), ensuring collection and verification of required documentation.
  • Monitor contract validity for national affiliate workforce and coordinate renewals or terminations with supervisors as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support, including recording worked hours for payment of fees to national consultants and related tasks.
  • Assist in the performance evaluation process of national consultants, providing logistical and administrative support for preparation and recording of performance evaluation reports (QAR).
  • Collaborate in actions to promote a respectful and harmonious work environment and facilitate knowledge exchange and best practices within the office.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in administrative and human resources support work.
  • Working knowledge (proficiency – level C) of English.
  • Mother tongue or working knowledge (proficiency - level C) of Thai.
  • National of Thailand or resident with a valid work permit.

Skills

  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Experience with HR administration processes and contract management (e.g., GRMS) and recruitment workflows.

Additional Information

This role requires office attendance in Bangkok, Thailand.
