About the Role

Respond to and resolve guest maintenance requests and perform general preventive and corrective maintenance across building systems, guest rooms, kitchens and exterior areas. Support daily engineering operations and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests; communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical equipment, including cleaning and lubrication; visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components (lamps, switches, outlets), vacuum cleaners, internet devices, and other guestroom items; program TVs.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities; use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work.
• Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers; carry equipment and move items up to 50 pounds (with assistance for heavier lifts).
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed; communicate shift activities and issues to other shifts using approved programs and standards.
• Follow company safety and security policies; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards; assist individuals with disabilities and address guest service needs.

Qualifications

• Required: Driver's License.
• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting; experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• Supervisory: No supervisory experience required.
• Other: Basic computer skills for inputting schedules and making temperature changes; ability to move up/down stairs, ramps and ladders; reach, bend, twist, pull and stoop as needed.
