About the Role

A highly skilled Senior R&D/Product Development Engineer to lead the development and design of high-speed cable assembly products such as SFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD, CDFP, HDminiSAS, OSFP, ACC, and AEC for data communication and hyperscale computing. Lead small and medium sized projects and develop product families.

Responsibilities

• Drive product development from concept to launch, ensuring performance, quality, and cost objectives are met.
• Lead a local engineering team and collaborate with global teams in China, US, and India.
• Work closely with customers, sales, and project managers to capture Voice of Customer (VOC) and translate requirements into solutions.
• Maintain system-level understanding of customer applications and design high-performance cables using advanced materials and techniques.
• Support projects through LEANPD processes and stage-gate reviews; ensure timely delivery of NPI and sustaining projects.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams, conduct engineering analysis, and coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers globally.
• Lead engineering evaluations and proposals for customers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet technical, quality, and cost objectives.
• Perform necessary testing and analysis to ensure product performance and compliance with standards, and drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: 7–10+ years in related roles; management experience preferred. Background in product development for data center or communication markets is a plus.
• Technical knowledge: proficiency in design software (Pro/E, CREO, AutoCAD); strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, stamping, plating, cable); understanding of transmission line signal integrity concepts; experience in high-speed cable design, materials, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies: FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D.
• Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written), excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, effective planning, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities; results-driven with a collaborative mindset and ambition to lead and grow a high-performing team.
