About the Role

EH & S SPECIALIST I is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company standards, and legal requirements. The role involves conducting safety inspections and risk assessments, managing contractor safety and permit systems, delivering safety training, investigating incidents and near-misses, and promoting a strong safety culture across all site operations to minimize risks and prevent accidents.

Responsibilities

• Enforce company and legal safety standards (e.g., ISO45001, local regulations, TE requirements).
• Conduct safety inspections, JSA and risk assessments; review existing JSA and Risk Assessment to ensure hazards are mitigated with proper hierarchy of control.
• Manage contractor control and work-permit system; ensure employees and contractors comply with safety policies and legal requirements; conduct contractor safety training and support contractor management system.
• Lead and coordinate site Health & Safety programs such as Safety Committee Patrol, LOTO Patrol, Gemba walk and Behavior Based Safety to drive strong safety performance.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments to reduce long term ill health.
• Organize safety training for new joiners and all employees; deliver Weekly Safety moment, Daily EHS radio, and emergency drills; support planning, delivery and tracking of H&S training for employees and contractors.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis (5Why - 7Area), recommend corrective actions and follow up to improve safety performance.
• Verify adequacy of safety equipment and systems including fire horse, fire extinguisher, firefighting equipment, PPE, emergency equipment, first aid facilities, and safety signage in line with Thai legal and TE requirements.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, JSA, risk and ergonomic assessments, training and incidents; assist in preparing and updating safety procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in safety-related roles.
• Deep understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, ISO45001, and Behavior Based Safety (BBS) principles and practices.
• Able to communicate in both written and spoken English.
• Willingness to be on-call and respond to plant needs during startups, process upsets, equipment failures, or emergency situations.
• Able to work effectively in both office environments and outdoor process areas; strong hazard identification, problem-solving skills and time management.
