What you’ll do

• Lead and deliver process safety and risk engineering scope across conceptual, FEED and detailed design phases.
• Take ownership of hazard and risk management activities, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, QRA, FERA, and dispersion studies.
• Develop and review key safety deliverables, including:
• Safety philosophy and design basis
• Fire and explosion studies
• Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Analysis (EERA)
• Hazardous area classification and layouts
• Fire & gas detection systems and safety equipment design
• Provide technical leadership and direction to safety engineers and cross-discipline teams.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (API, NFPA, client specifications, etc.).
• Interface with clients, support technical reviews, and resolve complex safety engineering issues.
• Contribute to project execution, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of safety engineering activities.
• Support development of loss prevention systems, including firewater systems, passive fire protection, and emergency response design.
• Promote continuous improvement and best practices in process safety and risk management.

What you’ll have

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Extensive experience in process safety / risk engineering within oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy projects.
• Proven experience delivering safety studies and engineering deliverables in FEED and detailed engineering stages.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies (HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, etc.)
• Fire and explosion analysis, dispersion modelling, and consequence assessment
• Loss prevention and safety systems (firewater, fire & gas, hazardous area classification)
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Prior experience in a Lead or Principal Safety Engineer role, including team leadership.
• Experience in both upstream and downstream projects (offshore, refinery, petrochemical).
• Familiarity with safety/risk software tools such as:
• PHAST / dispersion modelling tools
• PIPENET (firewater system analysis)
• Strong client interface and project management capability.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence within the team.
