SR R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER (High speed cable assembly)

Responsible for leading the development of high-speed cable assembly products for data communication applications. This role involves collaborating closely with customers, sales, FAE, and project managers to capture clear Voice of Customer (VOC) requirements and translate them into innovative engineering solutions. The engineer will maintain a system-level understanding of customer applications and cable design concepts to deliver products that meet performance, quality, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal high-speed cable assembly product development used for data communication.
• Work closely with customer, sales, FAE and PM to obtain clear VOC and make engineering evaluations/proposals to customers.
• Maintain a system-level understanding of customer applications and the cable design/concept necessary to provide solutions that meet customer expectations.
• Follow LEANPD project process and support the project team from a design perspective to complete projects on time, with required quality and within budget.
• Drive product development and release, and support scale-up through stage-gate reviews to ensure milestone commitments are met.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales, PM and plant; conduct necessary tests and engineering analyses.
• Coordinate with global manufacturing resources, procurement, and external suppliers to meet TE technical, quality, and cost objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required; Master degree preferred.
• 3 years or above related experience.
• Capable of using design software (for example: Pro/E, CREO, AutoCAD).
• Familiar with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, molding, stamping, plating and cable processes.
• Connector or cable assembly design or manufacturing engineering background.
• Good knowledge of material (metal/plastic) properties and selection.
• Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, 6sigma, DOE, 8D) is a plus.
• Knowledge of datacenter applications is a plus.
• Good English skills in reading and writing; workable oral English is a plus.

Skills

• Design software experience (Pro/E, CREO, AutoCAD).
• Project support following LEANPD and stage-gate processes.
• Testing and engineering analysis for product development and scale-up.
