Assistant Chief Engineer

About the Role

Location: Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, 199 Sukhumvit Soi 22, Bangkok, Thailand. Schedule: Full Time, Onsite. Position Type: Non-Management.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances and equipment; recommend replacement as needed.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and similar instruments.
• Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves.
• Order, mark, stock parts and supplies; maintain inventory and purchase orders log.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines; visually inspect for issues.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and maintain records.
• Operate power lift and perform life safety tasks including fire-pump run test and generator run test; inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist in development of disaster response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating and coaching employees.
• Follow company safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guest service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and identify, recommend and implement ways to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and cost-savings.
• Perform physical tasks including reaching overhead and below the knees (bending, twisting, pulling, stooping), moving/lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, standing/sitting/walking for extended periods, and moving up and down stairs or service ramps.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical, Trade or Vocational School degree preferred.
• Related work experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• License or certification: None required (safety training and certifications to be completed as part of role).
