Design Automation Engineer

About the Role

Position: Automation Design Engineer (Samut Sakhon Based). Level: Section Manager. Employer: Thai Union Group PCL.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and identify opportunities to improve processes with machine automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design or improve existing machinery.
• Design and customize machine automation, consulting with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure feasibility.
• Lead installation, commissioning and testing of new machinery on production lines.
• Develop and build prototypes, run tests, record and evaluate testing data, and modify designs to meet safety, performance and efficiency standards.
• Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues and continuously optimize machines for productivity, quality and cost savings.
• Source and apply new technologies as required by the business.
• Research competitor products quarterly and collaborate with product development to generate improvement ideas.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in automation design.
• Knowledge of electrical control design and automation electrical systems.
• Experience with design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ZW3D, etc.
• Hands-on experience in industrial automation, prototype testing and production line implementation is a plus.
• Strong problem analysis and solving skills, leadership, well-organized and responsible.
• Good interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.

Additional Information

• Working days: Mon - Fri and every other Saturday.
• Working hours: 08.00 a.m. – 05.00 p.m. or as specified by the agency.
• Office location: TU Shrimp Plant A.Muang, Samutsakorn (Near Makro Mahachai).
