In Southeast Asia we are present in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The Planning Engineer role is based in Ubon Ratchathani for the AC8 wind farm project.

Responsibilities

• Management of construction project costs and submission of monthly planning and progress reports to project management.
• Prepare Level II planning based on area procedures and within required timeframes, in coordination with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Organize and coordinate integration of plans sent by Business Development into Level I and II plans.
• Develop and maintain planning templates for each project type (wind and photovoltaic), identifying activities, durations and dependencies.
• Develop and adjust detailed planning templates for each specific project (with the Project Manager) for purchasing, engineering, construction and commissioning.
• Monitor progress and prepare weekly and monthly planning reports; prepare progress curves and other planning reports required by the department.
• Analyze projects during execution to determine critical paths and risks, and propose/update changes to project the expected final deadline.
• Determine critical and sub-critical paths from Engineering & Construction until transfer to Operations and Maintenance.
• Coordinate with Project Management and other discipline coordinators to obtain best results.
• Ensure project planning documentation is correctly uploaded to SharePoint and available in the department's applications.
• Identify improvements in departmental instructions and channel lessons learned from project planning processes.
• Obtain information from other departments (business development, purchasing, engineering, construction, network code, etc.) involved in meeting project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree.
• Specific training in planning; knowledge of Primavera P6 is essential. Additional courses in project planning and management are valued.
• English: high/intermediate level, spoken and written.
• Ability to negotiate with third parties, work in a team, and perform technical analysis of projects.
• Preferred: programming and planning experience on industrial EPC projects (combined cycle cogeneration, LNG, solar thermal, oil & gas) and management of industrial EPC projects.
• Geographic mobility: International.
