Forklift Operator

Job Responsibilities:

Shipping

• Prior to using equipment, performs operations and safety check and signs off on daily equipment check list certifying everything is in good operating condition.
• Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
• Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock.
• Notify the Supervisor of shortages.
• Prepare labels for shipment in accordance with the work order and customer requirements.
• Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices.
• Maintain/organize work area for safety and efficiency.
• Stock racks in the warehouse.
• Monitor packaging material supplies and notify the Supervisor when materials get to the restocking point.
• Organize pick tickets/BOLs and double check shipments before loading.
• Assists other employees when needed with loading, lifting, and searching for freight.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and supervisors.
• Assists customers and drivers when they come to the dock to pick up freight.

Receiving

• Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment.
• Sort, count, package, label, and put away inventory that is received.
• Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify management of findings.
• Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing purchased items.
• Stock racks in the warehouse.
• Operate pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment.
• Operate stretch-wrap machines.
